The road to Corrientes
From Puerto Iguazú to Corrientes you always follow National Route 12: first the Misiones rainforest to Posadas (about 300 km), then the Corrientes stretch to the provincial capital. In total it's about 620 km and 8 to 9 hours, with stops.
- Misiones: the Wanda Mines and the San Ignacio Jesuit ruins are natural stops on the road.
- Posadas: the halfway point, good for lunch and a stretch.
- Corrientes: you pass Ituzaingó, near the Yacyretá dam, before reaching the Paraná waterfront.
Because of the distance it's best to leave early. You can also split the trip with a night in Posadas: ask us.
