How to plan Iguazú with children

With kids, pace matters most: short stretches of walking, breaks in the shade with water, and the option to head back when they get tired. A private car helps because you leave and return when your family needs to.

  • Brazilian side: a shorter visit, half a day, with panoramic views. Usually the easiest for small children.
  • Bird Park: a plan kids enjoy: aviaries to walk through and colorful birds. It's right across from the Brazilian side.
  • Argentine side: the Upper Trail has little climbing; the Lower Trail has stretches with stairs. Start early to avoid the midday heat.
  • What to bring: water, hats, sunscreen, insect repellent, a change of clothes and something for the spray.
