The falls are shared between two countries and each side feels different, so the ideal is to give each one a day. 2 days is enough for that; with 3 days you add another trip and arrive or leave without rushing.

With a single day you see one side: the Argentine one, which takes the whole day. The Brazilian side needs half a day more. That's why we recommend at least 2 days.
The Argentine side: it puts you among the falls and at the Devil's Throat. If you prefer the panoramic view and little walking, the Brazilian side.
There's no required order. Many do the Argentine side first because it's the longest and you start rested, leaving Brazil for the border-crossing day.
